Difenoconazole: An Overview of this Powerful Fungicide

Difenoconazole also known as oxfendazole belongs to the triazole class of fungicides. It is a highly effective, broad-spectrum, low-toxicity fungicide with a low application rate. It is considered an excellent variety of triazole fungicides due to its strong systemic properties.
Difenoconazole works by inhibiting the demethylation of sterols in fungal cells, disrupting the structure and function of the pathogenic fungal cell membranes. It is used on a variety of crops, including fruit trees, vegetables, wheat, potatoes, legumes, and melons. It provides excellent protection and treatment against various fungal diseases in vegetables and fruits. It is characterized by the "three no's" principle, meaning it does not pollute the environment, agricultural products, or harm natural predators. Therefore, it is an ideal fungicide for controlling diseases like citrus canker and leaf spot diseases in crops, not only in China but also in many other countries worldwide.

Usage

Excellent control effects against diseases such as downy mildew, rust, early blight, leaf spot, black spot, and powdery mildew on crops such as grapes, peanuts, stone fruits, potatoes, wheat, and vegetables.

Suitable Crops

Difenoconazole is used on crops such as tomatoes, sugar beets, bananas, cereal crops, rice, soybeans, horticultural crops, and various vegetables, among others. When applied to wheat and barley at the stem-leaf stage (wheat plants 24-42cm tall), there may sometimes be discoloration of the leaves, but it does not affect yield.

Application

Difenoconazole is mainly used for foliar treatment and seed treatment. The 10% Difenoconazole WDG are primarily used for stem-leaf treatment at a dosage of 30 to 125g per hectare. The application of the 10% Difenoconazole WDG is mainly for the control of diseases such as pear black spot, apple scab and leaf spot, tomato early blight, watermelon vine wilt disease, chili anthracnose, strawberry powdery mildew, grape anthracnose, black spot disease, and citrus canker, among others.

Difenoconazole Advantage

1. Systemic Conduction and Broad-Spectrum Fungicide: Difenoconazole, belonging to the triazole class of fungicides, is a highly efficient, safe, low-toxicity, broad-spectrum fungicide. It can be absorbed by plants through systemic conduction with strong permeability. Within 2 hours after application, it is absorbed by crops and exhibits upward translocation characteristics, protecting young leaves, flowers, and fruits from fungal infections. It has a broad spectrum of efficacy against various fungal diseases and can effectively control diseases like black spot, leaf spot, powdery mildew, and rust in vegetables, offering both preventive and curative effects.

2.Rainfastness and Long-Lasting Effect:The agent adheres well to leaf surfaces, making it resistant to rainwater wash-off. It has minimal volatility from leaf surfaces and maintains its fungicidal activity for an extended period, even under high-temperature conditions, with a longer effective duration compared to typical fungicides, lasting 3-4 days longer.

3.Advanced Formulation and Crop Safety:It is formulated as a water-dispersible granule comprising active ingredients, dispersants, wetting agents, disintegrants, defoamers, adhesives, and anticaking agents. It is produced using processes like micronization and spray drying. When mixed with water, it rapidly disperses without forming dust, creating a highly suspended dispersion system. It is safe for users and the environment, containing no organic solvents and ensuring the safety of recommended crops.

4.Excellent Compatibility: Difenoconazole can be mixed with other fungicides like propiconazole and azoxystrobin to produce
compound fungicides for agricultural production.
